Þorsteinn Már Baldvinsson

Chairman

Baldvinsson was elected to the Board of Directors of Glitnir at the Annual General Meeting in February 2008 and appointed Chairman by the Board.

Baldvinsson is one of the founders of Samherji Ltd., a leading seafood company in Iceland.  Since 1983, he has been the CEO of Samherji and has been very influential in the seafood sector and Icelandic society. He serves currently as Chairman of the board of Sildarvinnslan Ltd.(SVN), is a member of the Board of Directors of Tryggingamiðstöðin Ltd.(TM), and a number of other companies and organizations.

Baldvinsson acquired a master's certificate from the College of Navigation of Reykjavik in 1975 and graduated as a Civil Engineer from The Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 1980.

Jón Sigurðsson

Vice Chairman

Sigurðsson was first elected to the Board of Directors of Glitnir at the Annual General Meeting in February 2006.

Sigurðsson was appointed CEO of Stodir (formerly FL Group) in December 2007. He joined Stodir as managing director in September 2005 and was appointed Deputy CEO in December 2006. Prior to joining Stodir, Jón worked at Landsbanki Íslands and Kaupthing Bank.

He received his B.Sc. in Business Administration from Reykjavík University.

Hans Kristian Hustad

Member of the Board

Hustad was first elected to the Board of Directors of Glitnir at the Annual General Meeting in February 2008. He is also a director on the board of Baugur Group.

He has studied finance and logistics at universities in Norway and Sweden and has held leading positions in Nora Industrier, Orkla and Reitan Narvesen.

Hustad is Chairman of the Board of Booker Ltd and a member of the board of directors of Hamleys Ltd and Wyevale Ltd.

Sigurður G. Guðjónsson

Member of the Board

Guðjónsson was first elected to the Board of Glitnir at the Annual General Meeting in February 2008. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Farice ehf. and Farice hf. as well as Sökkull ehf.

Guðjónsson has his own law practice which he has run since 1985 in Reykjavík, Iceland.

Guðjónsson holds a Cand. Juris degree from the University of Iceland. He is also admitted to practice before the District Courts and before the Supreme Court of Iceland.

Björn Ingi Sveinsson

Member of the Board

Sveinsson was elected as a Member of the Board of Glitnir at an Extraordinary General Meeting in April 2007. He also serves as Chairman or Board Member of: Austurbraut ehf., Berlin Towers GmbH, Ferðaskrifstofa Íslands/Exit ehf., Glitnir Real Estate Fund hf., Steni AS, Hadley Homes Holdings Ltd., Ice-Invest Berlin GmbH, London Property Holdings plc, Saxbygg Holding BV, Saxbygg Invest BV and the Technical College of Hafnarfjörður.

In 2005 Sveinsson was appointed CEO of Saxbygg Investments ehf. Previously he was CEO of SPH Savings Bank for a period in 2005, Chief City Engineer for the City of Reykja-vík, CEO of Hönnun Consulting Engineers and CEO of Silverton ASA/Silfurtún hf. He also has an extensive career as a consultant in structural and seismic engineering in Iceland and California.

Sveinsson holds a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Iceland and a Masters degree of Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, California.

Kristín Edwald

Member of the Board

Edwald was elected as a Member of the Board of Glitnir at an Annual General Meeting in February 2008. She also serves as board Member of Lex Law Offices and Icelandic National Broadcasting Service .

Edwald is a senior partner at Lex Law Offices. She graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Iceland in 1997.  She was admitted to practice before the District Courts of Iceland in January 1998 and was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court in May 2005.  

Edwald worked at Logos Legal Services from 1997 to 2000 and at the Prosecution of Economic Crime Division of the National Commissioner of Police from 2000 to 2002.  In August 2002 she began working at Lex Law Offices and became a partner in January 2004.

Haukur Guðjónsson

Member of the Board

Mr. Guðjónsson was first elected to the Board of Directors of Glitnir at the Extraordinary General Meeting in April 2007, he was elected as alternate for the Board on the Annual General meeting in February 2008 but took a seat again in the Glitnir's Board of Directors on 11 April 2008. He is currently an alternate member of the Board of the Icelandic Federation for Motor Trades and Repairs.

In 2006 Mr. Guðjónsson was appointed CEO of Ingvar Helgason ehf. (a car distributor) where he had been serving as CFO since 2004. Prior to joining Ingvar Helgason ehf.

Mr. Guðjónsson was the CFO for JB Byggingarfélag and worked as an independent real estate and ship broker.

Mr. Guðjónsson is a licensed real estate and ship broker as well as a licensed securities broker.
