Sustainable Energy is one of the niche markets that Glitnir focuses on internationally and has become a very important part of the Bank’s activities outside of Iceland. Having served the energy industry in Iceland for decades, today Glitnir works with companies in this sector all over the world.

With a focus on geothermal energy, both for electricity generation and for direct use, we also scrutinize other sectors of the renewable energy industry. With the Icelandic Energy Industry that is based almost completely on sustainable resources – hydro and geothermal, Glitnir has a unique basis for its activities in this sector.
